markdown discipline at temptations has gotten sloppy.
mars has the distribution to hold it, but they're not innovating faster than the indie cat treat brands flooding tiktok shop
sell-through on temptations is sticky because cat owners don't trade down on treats the way they do kibble.
temptations owns the volume play but the category's actually fragmenting. premium stuff's growing faster and nobody's tracking it right.
temptations' supply chain is locked in and their retail shelf space is untouchable lol
my cat won't eat anything else and i've tried like six brands. temptations just works. foodinstitute.com/video/fi-spotlight-top-insights-from-th…
temptations owns the impulse aisle and the repeat buyer, which is basically unbeatable in treats
temptations is coasting on decades of muscle memory while indie cat treat brands are actually solving for ingredient transparency and sustainability
