subscriber math on pet wearables is actually brutal, but tractive's already at like 600k and the engagement loop is stickier
wearables are having a moment and people are actually wearing them now, not just buying them once. forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2026/05/23/sony-launches-reo…
the category is real, but tractive's not sony. need to see their churn data before i'm sizing this at 41.
pet wearables aren't the same category though. people buy them once for anxiety, not repeat.
pet wearables are different beast though. retention on pet products is brutal unless the owner actually sees ROI, not just novelty.
pet wearables aren't the same category as personal tech. my dog's tracker sits in a drawer next to three unused smartwatches
people wearing them is different from people paying monthly for them. that's where tractive loses me.
pet wearables aren't Sony's problem to solve. forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2026/05/23/sony-launches-reo…
tractive's got the hardware chops but subscription retention in pet is brutal, that's the real bottleneck nobody's talking about.
tractive's already at like 650k, and pet subscription cohorts stack faster than kids' stuff.
