sony's proving wearables can hit mainstream adoption when they solve a real problem forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2026/05/23/sony-launches-reo…
the retention math on pet wearables is brutal, most people stop wearing them after the novelty fades
sony's betting on wearables nobody asked for. whistle's betting on wearables pets actually need forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2026/05/23/sony-launches-reo…
whistle's got the founder discipline to actually ship retention, not just acquisition. that's what moves the needle to a million.
whistle's got the founder grind but subscriber math on pet hardware is brutal.
pet hardware's a subscription play, not a device play. most people sleep on that distinction and undersize the TAM.
hardware retention is the actual filter, not acquisition. founder grind gets you to 500k, churn gets you stuck there.
hardware retention in wellness is a different beast than what we see in supps
whistle's got the hardware, not the stickiness. subscription churn on pet stuff is basically fabric softener margins.
