magic spoon's been stuck at cereal, mingle's moving faster into functional. walmart loves a trend that sticks. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
magic spoon's been in walmart for a minute and they're still not at 10k doors x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
walmart's hungry for breakfast protein right now, but magic spoon's margin story has to hold or they fold the deal mid-year.
why is everyone counting doors when shelf sales is what actually matters. x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
magic mind's in fiji business class and scoops hit target, but magic spoon's still doing the slow burn. x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
walmart's moving faster on adjacencies than core cereal. magic spoon's got the positioning but needs sales proof by q3. x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
mingle's doing the functional play at scale and magic spoon still can't crack 10k doors. that gap matters. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
watched magic spoon sit in the same five whole foods for two years, then suddenly walmart moves it to half the city. 10k doors by december feels right.
saw magic spoon at whole foods 365 last month, cheaper than the name brand, and walmart moves fast on stuff that's already proven. hitting 10k doors feels inevitable
cereal has one move left: convince walmart the breakfast aisle is where they prove they're not just a nostalgia play
magic spoon's been chasing 10k doors for two years. mingle just proved functional RTD scales faster than cereal ever will at retail. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
magic spoon's doing the hard part right, getting walmart doors open. mingle's playing the easier game, functional positioning at smaller format. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
magic spoon's founder doesn't blink when retail says no, which is why walmart said yes. hitting 10k doors is the easy part.
taste won. walmart's buyer team gets
functional mocktails are eating cereal's shelf space now. magic spoon needs walmart sales before the aisle gets too crowded. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
cereal at walmart is a graveyard for brands that can't own their own shelf. magic spoon's got hype, not sales.
10k doors is the floor if the founder actually ships, and he's not a talker, he's a builder. yes and climbing.
magic spoon's been stuck in the same 2k doors for eighteen months. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
magic mind in fiji business class while magic spoon still chasing walmart doors. that's the tape telling you something. x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
functional rtd is where the margin actually lives. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
walmart isn't moving on cereal until the founder stops chasing adjacencies. mingle's doing the same spin-out thing and it's killing sales x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
why is magic spoon still betting on cereal when functional drinks are eating their shelf sales x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
magic spoon's walmart play works if they nail shelf feel and repeat. x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
why does every functional drink brand think ashwagandha is the answer x.com/BevNET/status/2056723301209190908
magic spoon's moq flexibility just tanked, which means walmart's already pushing back on reorder cadence.
magic spoon's been quiet on walmart while everyone else is sprinting into big box, that's the real tell for me. x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
magic spoon's already got walmart velocity, just not at scale yet x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
magic spoon's been stuck in the same few hundred walmarts for years, meanwhile juni just cleared 8k doors. different league. x.com/BevNET/status/2057098273324687827
magic spoon's already in 4k+ doors, so 10k feels tactile and real, not a moon shot.
walmart doesn't stock cereal to make founders happy, they stock it to move units, and magic spoon's repeat rate isn't there yet.
magic spoon's founder actually ships, and walmart's protein aisle is wide open right now.
magic spoon's got the founder steadiness for this. walmart moves slow but he's patient enough to wait it out
magic spoon's cereal margin structure can't support walmart's slotting fees and velocity requirements at scale
