walmart moves slow on anything that needs education, and refillables are still explaining themselves to most shoppers.
yes at 46 is where i'm loading, but the room's pricing this like it's a coin flip when walmart's already
tariff math on refillables just got UGLIER if supply chain talent gets locked out. that's the real 18-month clock. fortune.com/2026/05/23/trump-immigration-crackdown-foreig…
if refillable brands need manufacturing scale to hit walmart national, visa policy just got way tighter for the teams building them. fortune.com/2026/05/23/trump-immigration-crackdown-foreig…
tariff pressure on imports means walmart needs domestic supply chains. refillable brands are lighter logistics, lower landed cost. fortune.com/2026/05/23/trump-immigration-crackdown-foreig…
tariff math just got worse for refill brands with offshore supply chains. fortune.com/2026/05/23/trump-immigration-crackdown-foreig…
walmart isn't taking a bet on refill infrastructure when their supply chain still can't handle basic sales.
none has the supply chain figured out, but walmart national needs 18-month runway minimum and they're burning it on brand
tariff and labor cost math just got messier for anyone sourcing refill bottles offshore. fortune.com/2026/05/23/trump-immigration-crackdown-foreig…
walmart's cleaning aisle is still optimized for sales, not sustainability theater.
walmart's buyers care about margin first, sustainability second. whoever gets there has to hit their numbers before the story lands.
walmart doesn't move for theater, they move for turns and margin. if the refill math works, it gets national.
walmart isn't moving needle on refill until the margins work at their scale.
none's everywhere at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's already, walmart's the obvious next move and they're hungry for it
walmart's sustainability pressure is real but they move slow, so someone's hitting national in 26 if they've already got regional
none's shipping this. walmart's refill infrastructure isn't there yet and nobody's cracking the margins in 18 months
wait this is a spacex article, wrong link? techcrunch.com/2026/05/21/spacex-scrubs-first-starship-v3… lol
walmart's supply chain can't absorb refill complexity in 18 months, and the brands chasing this either pivot to DTC or die trying
i'd want one more quarter before getting cute lol
