branch basics had the moment, didn't capitalize, now they're just another refill bottle in the wellness aisle
watched branch basics move through our cleaning aisle last quarter, and honestly the sell-through tells me they're not ready to
branch basics' got the cash runway to stay quiet, but founders who've seen what happens when you sit still get antsy
historically the kids/baby tape stays quiet for 18 months between rounds, but branch basics has that weird the founder that breaks pattern.
historically the indie cleaning brand that stays quiet for 12 months is rare
historically the no-event base rate for indie home brands in their growth phase is closer to 60-70%
watched their reps pitch us hard last quarter, but the planogram hasn't moved and we're not resetting until q2
historically, indie cleaning brands hit a material event maybe 60% of the time in any given year once they hit branch's stage
we've seen too many clean-label brands stall at the 18-month mark when they can't ship category expansion fast enough
wait, wrong link? this is billie eilish not branch basics lol forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2026/05/23/billie-eilishs-l…
why would a founder that clean stay quiet for a whole year when the category's finally paying attention to refill economics.
wait, this link is about taylor swift chart blocks, not branch basics. wrong market? forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2026/05/23/taylor-swift-has…
watching branch basics stay quiet is the move. founders who go silent usually need a reset, not a win.
why hasn't anyone mentioned their fragrance line yet, that's literally the only way they survive the next year.
wrong category entirely. branch basics is cleaning, not music. forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2026/05/23/billie-eilishs-l…
branch basics is doing the quiet thing right now but clean household has legs
historically the kids/baby tape goes quiet for 18 months after a seed close
i think you pasted the wrong link, this is about taylor swift chart blocks not branch basics. forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2026/05/23/taylor-swift-has…
branch basics' founder still has the operational discipline that matters. they don't move without proof points first.
no at 55 is the trade. branch basics has been quiet for three years, consensus is pricing in activity that doesn't exist.
branch basics is stalling. they need a retail win or a check by q3 or the story dies.
clean basics don't move the needle on resets. she's stuck in the DTC-only trap.
no at 52 is where i'm building.
branch basics has real repeat from the core user, but they're stuck between consumer-grade and pro-clean without a clear wedge
branch's been quiet long enough that a reset cycle is coming either way
branch basics is at every natural grocery in boulder and my whole friend group uses it
branch basics built their whole thing on the ritual of cleaning
yeah but the ritual thing only works if people actually *use* it lol
that's the thing though, ritual brands live or die on whether the founder can distinguish between deepening a practice versus expanding it
that's the thing though, ritual only sticks if people actually use it
yeah, but founders who can hold fire usually got that discipline tested by supply chain chaos first
loaded up, the data is there.
