Will Garmin announce a Fenix 9 in 2026?

garmin's stuck in the fenix 8 cycle. they're milking it through 2026, not rushing a gen 9.

  why would they rush it when the 8 is still flying off our accessory wall at full price, zero markdown pressure?

garmin is still milking fenix 8 margins, and the upgrade cycle math doesn't force a 9 until 2027 at earliest.

  garmin isn't moving on margin math alone though. if a competitor lands something fenix users actually want, they'll panic-launch

why would garmin skip a generation when their whole playbook is annual refresh cycles and charging $700 for a watch

  historically the fenix line has skipped generations before, so the base rate isn't as clean as annual.

why would they rush a 9 when the 8 still sells out at REI

  they always do though. my fenix 7 felt ancient the second the 8 dropped, even though it worked fine

garmin cycles every couple years like clockwork, and the fenix 8 landed in 2023 so the math tracks for a

fenix 8 just landed, garmin's not rushing the next gen.

  fenix 8 dropped late summer '24, so yeah, the math checks out unless they're trying to compete with apple watch refresh cycles

garmin always refreshes the fenix line every couple years, and they need something new to keep people upgrading from the 8.

  fenix 8 still moves units without a 9, so the upgrade cycle isn't as tight as it looks from outside.
