MANILA — BDO Unibank said that withdrawals made from the account of a passbook holder who went viral on social media for claiming he inexplicably "lost" some P345,000 "were verified to be valid."
In a video that made rounds on the internet, Gleen Cañete claimed while shedding tears that the passbook account made to finance his child's tertiary studies had been "hacked" and that the entire P345,000 in it had been wiped out.
Cañete narrated in the video that BDO told him his passbook account had been successfully linked online, despite his claim that the account had no online account or card.
